The minute my first toe hits Island soil, I feel my body de-stress! Welcome to the beautiful Martha's Vineyard, a Massachusetts island and a long time New England summer colony.  It encompasses harbor towns, four lighthouses, sandy beaches, and farmland. It's accessible only by boat or air. The remoteness of the Island is part of its charm and soon you too will feel the journey is well worthwhile. 

Whether by boat or air, once your feet hit the island, your Restoration Experience arrangements will be covered from transportation pick up to fun-filled excursions and activities!

Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, and Edgartown are three main towns on the Island, but what makes Edgartown particularly charming dates back to its height between 1820 and 1865. Edgartown was the island's center for whaling activities, and between 1835 and 1845 alone 110 whaling captains built homes and lived in Edgartown. The largest single maritime - related enterprise which grew up around whaling was the production of whale oil and candles. To this day, the whale oil replica lanterns line the tiny streets of Edgartown.

Each night, you will sleep soundly in one of the historic captain's houses overlooking the Edgartown Lighthouse! Just like the hard working whaling captains of long ago, you will rest well under the crisp star-filled nights of Edgartown harbor. 

Surrounded by the sea and rich in farmlands, Martha's Vineyard offers a unique choice of foods and fun places to eat. 

Your Restoration Experience will include an assortment of options for all palettes from fresh baked goods to scones and soda breads. For lunch and dinner, you can crack open a lobster on worn wooden tables or atop fine china at one of the finest restaurants. Warm yourself with New England's best chowder or cool down with a delicious salad composed of greens picked the same morning.

Today as in years past boating and other water sports, camps, horseback riding, and fitness training are just some activities on Martha's Vineyard.
